Wait, professional organizing is a thing? What does it entail?

Yes! Professional organizing is a real thing! We specialize in helping individuals, families, and places of business maximize their efficiency and space through the process of decluttering, categorizing items, and organizing them. We are trained to be able to evaluate a space for optimal organization and access, so hiring a professional means that you’ll get someone who can assess the space quickly, saving you time and money.

What will the organizing process be like?

The first step of the job is decluttering. We’ll work closely with you to decide what is still serving you and worth keeping versus what you would like to do with items no longer serving you. Your input is vital in this step, so it isn’t something we can come in and do without you. This step will include a lot of questions.

The next step will be categorizing like-items and containing them to create a maintainable system to keep your space more organized. The key phrase is “maintainable system.” Some systems might be gorgeous to look at, but may not be practical for your reality. We want to work closely with you to adapt a system that will actually work for you and that you can maintain.

Do you travel beyond the DMV (DC, MD, VA metro) area?

We do! Please reach out to us through our contact form to learn more about scheduling visits that require travel.

Okay, I think I need this in my life… Now what?

After you reach out to us, we’ll schedule a complimentary, 30-minute consultation. We can do this virtually (using WhatsApp, Zoom, or Google Meet) or over-the-phone. We’ll also ask you to share some pictures of the space with us, so we can get a better idea of the scope of the project. The consultation is key to ensuring that we are able to best understand your routines, your vision for the space, and what is (or isn’t) working for you. We’ll then suggest the best package (or create a custom package) to get you the best deal possible. After the consultation, we’ll send you a pricing proposal with a breakdown of the project and then a contract.

How long will it take?

It depends on a couple of things.

Space - Every space is different. Even a small kitchen can be jam-packed with clutter to the top of the cabinets. The volume of items matters just as much as the square footage.

Client - The client’s decision-making speed will also play a role in how long the process will take. If letting go of things quickly is easier for you, we can declutter much more quickly; however, if you need more time to reflect and evaluate, it can slow the decluttering process. If you’re in the latter category, no judgement here; it can be tricky! That said, if you want to save a little money and feel like you need some extra think-time, consider doing a little decluttering prior to the job if you.

Are there any additional expenses?

Yes. Our prices reflect the service, but organizational products (like containers and shelving) and decor items (like art and furniture) are the client’s financial responsibility and will be billed additionally. If a project doesn’t fit into a package we have listed, we can create a custom package to ensure you are able to get exactly what you need.
